Heirloom+Fusion+Native+Abstract =17 new designs
Brooklyn, NY May 2011: Malene b- Custom Handmade Carpets expands and explores new places around the world by launching four new collections: Heirloom, Abstract, Fusion and Native at the ICFF show in New York’s Jacob Javits on May 14-17, 2011 booth 2038. Malene b specializes in globally inspired custom handmade carpets designed by principal and lead designer, Malene Barnett.
Bringing greater depth to the company’s current product line, the introduction of these 4 new collections provides designers with more possibilities than ever before to incorporate Malene b’s modern, globally inspired designs to create unique, sophisticated interiors. Handcrafted using the finest wools and silks, each collection is versatile enough to fit any residential, commercial or hospitality environment.
The journey begins with Fusion, a collection that captures the essence of its designation, style or technique featuring “Calabash”. Inspired by the fruit-bearing tree, Calabash unites graphic shapes in a classic composition. The journey continues with the Abstract collection paying homage to art and nature showcasing “Grain” and “Fresco”. Grain captures the innate characteristics of our earth’s unrefined shapes colors and forms, while Fresco explores the laying technique of washed color reminiscent of renaissance wall art.
Each carpet features Malene b’s signature style of employing sculpting techniques to create 3-dimensional, multi pile height effects. Available in custom colors, sizes and shapes. Suggested list prices for H450 hand tufted semi-worsted New Zealand wool start at $79 sqft., 100 knot Nepalese-Tibetan wool starts at $99 sqft., and 100 knot Nepalese-Tibetan wool/silk starts at $119 sqft. Malene b carpets are distributed through select trade showrooms in the U.S. and Canada.
Media Preview: On May 14- 15, from 10:00-12:00, Malene b will host a presentation to members of the media on its new collections. Treats will be served.
