Malene b- Custom Handmade Carpets Debuts Three New Collections.
Brooklyn, NY November 2010: Malene b- Custom Handmade Carpets debuts three new collections at the Boutique Design New York show in booth 2826. BDNY will take place at the Javits Center in New York City on November 14-15, 2010. Malene b specializes in globally inspired custom handmade carpets designed by principal and lead designer, Malene Barnett.
The company will showcase its St. Vincent and Papunya designs. Both carpets are both hand tufted in Thailand in 100% New Zealand Wool, H450 weight construction. St. Vincent and Papunya feature Malene b’s signature style of multi level cut/loop pile and hand carving techniques to create 3-dimensional effects. St. Vincent, is a tribute to the turquoise waters of the birth place of Malene b’s mother and is constructed using an all cut pile sculpted technique. Papunya reinterprets Aboriginal "Dot Art” paintings in a multi-dimensional cut and loop technique.
The new collection debuts are Heirloom, Native and Fusion. Each collection takes you on a global journey drawing from cultural icons with modern innovation. Heirloom and Native collections are both hand knotted in pure Tibetan Wool and Chinese Silk and made in Nepal. The Fusion collection is hand tufted in H450 weight New Zealand Wool and made in Thailand.
All Malene b carpets are made to order in any size, shape or color and feature 3-dimensional hand sculpturing techniques. Suggested list prices hand tufted New Zealand wool starts at $75 sqft, 100 Tibetan knot wool starts at $95 sqft, and 100 knot Tibetan wool/silk starts at $125 sqft. Malene b carpets are currently available through select trade showrooms in the U.S. and Canada.
